Career Highlights: Alfonso Ribeiro is an actor, singer and dancer best known for his role as spoiled rich-kid Carlton Banks in the former hit television sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air”…From 1990 to 1996, his character Carlton was often mercilessly teased by Will Smith’s lead character and was often called upon to do a comic, usually improvised dance routine to Tom Jones’ hit song “It’s Not Unusual”…Currently Ribeiro hosts the game show “Catch 21” on the Game Show Network (GSN) and co-hosts GSN Live with Heidi Bohay…Ribeiro began his acting career in the drama “Oye Willie” at the age of eight…By 10 years old, he had released such songs as “Dance Baby,” “Not Too Young,” and “Sneak Away with Me”…He starred in the Broadway musical “The Tap Dance Kid,” receiving rave reviews for his performance…In 1984, he was cast as Rick Schroder’s best friend in the television series “Silver Spoons”…Ribeiro is also known for his role on LL Cool J’s show “In the House” and as host of “Your Big Break”…He has acted and been part of the crew of numerous movies and television shows including being a contestant on FOX’s reality show “Celebrity Duets” – which he won in September 2006…In 2008, Ribeiro hosted Nick At Nite’s crush week of classic television, all while offering romantic advice and commentary between episodes and was also a talent scout in NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” Houston episode…Ribeiro also is an avid racing professional, driving part-time in the 1990s and winning the Toyota Grand prix Pro/Celebrity Race in 1994 and 1995.
